Fall 2010 Yoga Schedule

OCTOBER WORKSHOP:
Fundamentals of Vinyasa Flow Yoga
DATE: Saturday, October 2
TIME: 9:30 - 11:30 AM (lunch break) 1:30 - 3:30 PM
LOCATION: Body in Balance Yoga Studio
COST: $75
INSTRUCTORS: Adrian Kettering and Nicole Gauthier-Schatz (Certified Yoga Teachers)
DESCRIPTION: The workshop will cover the basics of Vinyasa Yoga breathing and poses. The morning session will discuss details of the origin of Vinyasa Yoga, basic pranayama, and specific pose alignment, culminating in students flowing through a basic sun salutation. The afternoon will move students through an invigorating Vinyasa Flow sequence including Sun Salutes A and B, and other series involving backbends, standing poses, forward folds and twists. Both sessions with close with a relaxing savasana, and the afternoon session will also have a short meditation. Class is appropriate for all levels of students.

Ages 3 to 7 years old - registration is required

Yoga provides an opportunity for children to have fun just being a kid - moving their bodies, relaxing with their breath, and learning how we are all connected in the amazing world of nature.

*Body in Balance Studio is right next to the Star City Rail Trail and playground - perfect for parents to use during class time!

VINYASA FLOW YOGA
at Vance’s Blues Boutique

Childcare is available - registration is required
Tuesday 9:15 – 10:30 AM (Begins September 7)

Students will be led through an invigorating Vinyasa Flow class on the main level of Vance’s Blues, while children will play downstairs with toys and childcare professionals. This is an all levels class, and will be physically challenging.  Students MUST call or email ahead of time to make sure there is room in class.  Vance’s Blues is located in downtown Morgantown at 111 Walnut Street (vancesblues.com)

VINYASA FLOW YOGA
Saturday 9:00 – 10:15 AM

Related to Ashtanga and Power Yoga, Vinyasa is a sequencing of poses, linked with breath, which stretches and tones the body. Classes include weight-bearing poses, posture sequencing, basic breathing techniques, inversions, and relaxation. Students must have a basic familiarity with yoga poses to attend class.

BASIC VINYASA FLOW YOGA
at the WVU Student Rec Center

Saturday 11:00 AM – noon

Class will include basic poses and breathing techniques, with student moving through series of poses with their breath. NOTE: this class is offered at the same time that the WVU SRC offers child care through the Mountaineer Kids Club.

1 class $12
4 classes $40 (for Yoga Kids siblings are $8 per session)
6 class pass $60 (valid for three months)
12 class pass $108 (valid for six months)
* For classes with childcare, the cost is $3 for babysitting up to two children.  Packages also available – 6 classes for $75 (valid all summer)

CANCELATION POLICY
For classes that require registration, the cancelation policy is 24 hours before class begins. This gives students on the wait list an opportunity to take an open spot in class. If notification is less than 24 hours before class, and the class has a wait list, the student who does not come to class will be charged the price of one class

Celebrate the joyful spirit of pregnancy by learning essential practices to achieve your optimal birthing experience and relieve common discomforts of pregnancy.
